Okay, so Saturday night I had one of the strongest "visions" I've ever had. It was scary real. Like see-every-possible-thing real. Buckle down peeps. This one's really long. Here's how it all went down:
Characters: Holly, Leesa, Kyle, Stefenie, Amber, Daniel.
Scene: A really big house at a family gathering
I crossed the hall into the next room, hoping it would be empty. I didn't want to talk to people right now. I was having a hard enough time with Kyle. It was so unfair. Yeah, we had only met at summer camp, and yeah, we were about as in-love as sixteen-year-olds could get, but it still really pissed me off how Amber could just blow us off like that. Kyle and I were together, and no matter how much Amber nagged us, we were staying together until time (or whatever happened to 16 year olds) pulled us apart.
I pulled my cell out from my purse. I was going to try to call Amber again, for literally the 27th time today. She couldn't avoid me forever. This wasn't an "I saw him first" argument anymore; I think Amber was starting to fall in love with my man. I sat down on my couch and dialed her number, waiting for the other end to begin to ring. Nothing. No service, go figure.
I could hear a voice distantly calling my name from the other end of the hall, and I was almost tempted to respond. No. I wouldn't. I had finally found my area of solitude-- I wasn't giving that up now. But the voice had already found me.
"Holly?" my dad asked, peeking in to make sure I wasn't naked or something.
"That's me," I responded, rising from my position and looking him in the eye. I didn't want to talk to my dad right now. I missed my boyfriend. He was probably one thousand miles away. Ironically, he was going to a family event to socialize with people he'd never even met, too.
"Holl, I want you to meet your cousin," my dad smiled.
"My cousin?" I asked. That was confusing. I was almost positive I knew every one of my cousins.
"Well, really, like your fourth cousin twice removed, or something like that. But he's about your age, and I think you might get along."
Oh boy, it was a he. I'd swear if I wasn't related to this guy, it sounded like my dad was trying to fix me up, which is literally a 16 year old's worst nightmare.
I sluggishly followed my dad into the next room, towards the tall post-pubesent boy facing the window, obviously in the same anti-social box that I was once quite content in. From what I could see, he was about 6 foot, blonde hair, and looked alot like Kyle from behind.
"Holl, I want you to meet Kyle," he smiled, and quickly left the room.
Crap. No, please no, not my Kyle.
The boy slowly turned around, apparantley just as freaked as I was. His blue eyes were wide with fear. Those blue eyes, my blue eyes.
"Holly," he mouthed.
Oh my god. I could feel my heart skip a beat. Tears were welling in my eyes; I wasn't sure if they were from disgust, anger, fear, or all of the above. My Kyle!! That was my Kyle!!!! All those nights at camp, Stefenie and Leesa always covering for me when I ran off with him... Daniel always joking about when Kyle would propose, we were so deeply in love...
Gross!
No, it couldn't be, it just couldn't be. I had kissed him. I had kissed him, and yet we was my..... no!
I let out a slight scream.
"Holy crap," Kyle whispered.
"This is so not fair," I cried, tears streaming down my face as I slid to the floor.
"Ugh," Kyle sighed. I looked at him angrily. "We loved each other," he breathed. "And yet we're..."
"Oh god, Kyle, don't say it..."
"Related."
****
Okay, so the saga will continue with Holly and Kyle... part 2 coming soon!
(I can really see this coming into a book)
